The washers have a 3mm offset to reduce the clutch spring preload. They make a noticable difference in the amount of force required to pull the clutch lever. The effect about the same as removing two springs, but without the possibility of warping the aluminum pressure plate. I have a set in my Beta 200 and find the lighter clutch pull to be perfect for me.
The idea for these washers came from the trialscentral forums a number of years ago. They were made popular in New England by Dan Williams and have been extensively tested throughout the Beta Evo lineup.
A set of six washers and six flat head stainless steel Allen screws are provided. The washers are made from aerospace grade 7075 aluminum. The washers can be ordered with a clutch cover o-ring (Beta OEM # 10.67340.000).
